I’ve had the pleasure of knowing Katie for a few years now. We met each other through a mutual friend, Kristin, and her non-profit Delight & Be. Katie and I met face to face in November of 2014 at Delight’s leadership retreat and have been friends ever since! You know the type of friendships…the one where you finally meet in person and stay up way to0 late and spend hours laughing way too hard on a futon in the middle of the floor in front of a burning fireplace. The kind of friendship that spans across states thanks to social media and facetime and voxer and snapshat! Katie is so full of wisdom and kindness and love and she brings so much joy and laughter to those around her. She is a prayer warrior. A truth speaker. A great friend. I am so thankful to have her in my life!
Katie owns a fantastic business – Make It Homespun – where she sells amazing hand designed t-shirts for all ages. I love the heart behind her vision, believing that what we wear carries a story and showcases your personality and your faith! Below is Katie’s story about being in front of my camera!
Every woman has a story to tell . . .
“I never put much stock in getting head shots before. This is funny, really, because I used to be a photographer. But I was always behind the camera. It has been a real struggle for me to invest in my business in this way, especially if it meant putting myself out there. I am so incredibly grateful that I have Brandy as a friend because it took a friend to gently push me to step outside my bubble and take a chance! She opened my eyes and showed me the value of head shots, all while giving me confidence and making me feel more empowered in my business than I ever have before. She gave me the gift of confidence with the images she took of me, which is something impossible to put a price tag on. The most amazing thing to me is that I have had my photos taken many times because of my association with many photographers, but this was the first time EVER that I actually loved the way I looked in the pictures. Brandy knows how to pose, how to make you feel less awkward while standing in front of a camera, and she really has the gift and passion of imparting confidence. She made me feel like she took my true self and captured it.” – Katie
